Bridging Classical and Jazz in a Lifelong Musical Journey

Gail spent her childhood dreaming of sharing the stage with Keith Jarret. While that never happened, she did happily marry her piano. Though classically trained, she found her way to jazz in full circle fashion. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, Gail toured with Interlochen’s Jazz Orchestra.

In her college years, she studied classical works through Longy School of Music. She later studied jazz with Neil Olmstead, Jonathan Fagan and Yoko Miwa.

Gail has played in a variety of performance ensembles over the years with styles encompassing jazz, classical, music theatre, gospel/ sacred music and pop. She has a long history of church work where she directed a contemporary vocal ensemble and led a house band, composed for her own choirs and created interfaith / multi-generational collaborations in song.

More recently in life, Gail has rediscovered her passion for live jazz performance, and it’s become her new “healthy obsession”
